Ring video doorbell users are upset because the company is raising prices by a whopping 43% starting in March. These doorbells let you see who’s at your door through an app on your phone.

If you want to store the videos on the cloud or get some extra benefits, you need to pay a yearly subscription fee. But now, that fee is going up from £34.99 to £49.99 per year per device.

People are not happy about this. Some are even saying they’ll cancel their subscriptions and stop buying from Ring altogether. They feel like they’re not getting any extra benefits for the big increase in price.

Amazon, which owns Ring, says they’re still giving good value for money. But many customers don’t agree. They say they’ve already canceled their subscriptions, and some are no longer recommending Ring to others.

The price for the basic plan has doubled since 2022, and now it’s going up again. Even if you pay monthly instead of yearly, the cost is going from £3.49 to £4.99 per month.

Ring’s doorbells cost between £49.99 and £169.99 upfront. You can still use the doorbells without paying a monthly fee, but you won’t get as many features.

Experts say this big price increase might hurt Amazon’s reputation, as people see them as a company that usually offers good value for money. And with more and more homes using smart security products like Ring, these price hikes could have a big impact on customers’ choices.
