Apple is paying out money in the US to settle a lawsuit where people claimed their iPhones were intentionally slowed down.

Each person may get around $92. A similar case in the UK is seeking even more money. Apple admitted in 2017 that older iPhones were purposely slowed down to extend battery life.

The US settlement covers iPhone 6 and 7, but the UK case includes iPhone 8 and X. Apple denies wrongdoing, but the UK case continues.

Justin Gutmann, who started the UK case, is glad for the US payments but says it doesn’t affect their situation. He hopes the UK trial will happen in late 2024 or early 2025.
