Tanzanian star Zuchu is banned from performing in Zanzibar for six months after a controversial show on Kendwa island.

Her performance was criticized for its explicit content, which clashed with local customs. Additionally, she was fined for performing without proper registration.

Zuchu, also known as Zuhura Othman Soud, apologized, stating her intention was to entertain, not offend.

Zanzibar, a popular tourist destination, has conservative residents who objected to the explicit nature of the performance.

Despite the controversy, Zuchu has achieved significant success in the music industry, becoming the first female musician in East Africa with over one million YouTube subscribers and surpassing 500 million YouTube views.
