UK parliamentary researcher and another man accused of spying for China under Official Secrets Act.

Christopher Cash, 29, and Christopher Berry, 32, allegedly provided information to a foreign state.

Police say it’s a serious matter. The charges involve giving sensitive data from January 2022 to February 2023.

Cash, linked to the China Research Group, had access to MPs. Police conducted a complex investigation leading to the charges.

The accused were released on bail earlier. They are due to appear in court in April. The Chinese Embassy denies the allegations, calling them slander.

It urges the UK to stop political manipulation. MPs refrain from commenting to avoid prejudicing the trial. The case highlights the sensitivity of national security issues.
