Exercise was found to be the most crucial habit for a longer life, followed by avoiding opioid addiction and not smoking.

Eating a plant-based diet, managing stress, and getting quality sleep also ranked high on the list of life-extending behaviors.

While these findings are promising, it’s essential to remember that they show an association, not a direct cause and effect.

And while the study focused on veterans, the results may apply to the general population too.
