Russian helicopter pilot Maxim Kuzminov, who switched sides to Ukraine, has been killed in Spain. Last year, Kuzminov flew a helicopter into Ukraine and surrendered himself.
Ukrainian intelligence confirmed his death, stating that he had invited his ex-spouse to join him in Spain before being found dead.
Spanish authorities have not officially confirmed his identity, but documents matching his nationality were found near his body.
Kuzminov defected due to his opposition to Russia’s war on Ukraine and had been promised financial support and protection by Ukraine.
