The young sports player fell down during a recent team practice.

Shortly after Bronny James, the son of the famous basketball player LeBron James, experienced a sudden heart issue during a USC team practice, the reason behind the incident was disclosed.

According to a recent statement from a family spokesperson shared by The Athletic’s Shams Charania, Bronny has been found to have a congenital heart defect.

The statement explained that after thorough assessments at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center led by Dr. Merije Chukumerije, and further evaluations at the Mayo Clinic led by Dr. Michael J. Ackerman, as well as at Atlantic Health/Morristown Medical Center led by Dr. Matthew W. Martinez, the likely cause of Bronny James’ sudden heart problem has been identified. It is a significant heart defect that has existed since birth, affecting both its structure and function. The condition is treatable and will be addressed.

The message also mentioned that the family is very sure that Bronny will fully get better and return to playing basketball soon. However, the statement didn’t mention the exact congenital issue he has.

Bronny, who is only 18 years old, fell down last month on July 24th. He was rapidly taken care of by the medical team at USC and then taken to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The hospital said he arrived there awake, without any brain problems, and in a stable condition, which was possible because of the quick help he got.

After three days, Bronny came back home. His father, LeBron, expressed his thanks on Twitter for the support they received during this difficult time. He said they felt the love and prayers from many people and that everyone is doing well. The family is together, safe, and healthy.

Although Bronny hasn’t talked about the health problem publicly, he was seen having dinner with his family only two days after leaving the hospital.
