Trump’s Lawyer Says He’ll Keep Fighting Despite Conviction
Donald Trump’s lawyer told the BBC that nothing will stop his fight for the White House, even after being found guilty in New York for concealing payments made to Stormy Daniels during the 2016 election campaign.
Alina Habba, Trump’s attorney, claimed he was a victim of political prosecution and will continue his presidential campaign regardless of the verdict.
Despite being convicted on 34 counts of falsifying business records, Trump plans to appeal and still aims to run for president in November.
Habba criticized the trial as politically motivated, expressing concern about corruption in the judicial system. She highlighted Trump’s supporters’ unwavering backing and emphasized their fear of the consequences if he were not to continue his political journey.
Trump’s conviction has intensified divisions in the US, with his supporters alleging threats against his life and potential lifelong imprisonment.
However, legal experts suggest his sentence may not be as severe as feared.
