Sharif and Khan Both Claim Victory in Pakistan Elections

Former Pakistani Prime Ministers Nawaz Sharif and Imran Khan have both declared themselves winners in the recent elections. However, there’s confusion as Sharif’s party won the most seats by a single party, while Khan’s supporters, running as independents, won the most seats overall. This has led to a political deadlock in the country.

Sharif plans to form a coalition government since his party didn’t win a clear majority. Khan, currently in jail, rejected Sharif’s victory claim, alleging rigging in the polls.

The election results have been delayed, causing uncertainty in the country’s financial markets. Analysts worry that a coalition government might struggle to address Pakistan’s economic challenges, especially securing a new bailout from the IMF.
