Former Sierra Leone President, Ernest Bai Koroma, Faces Police Inquiry After Failed Coup Attempt

Ex-President Koroma, who led the country for over a decade, was questioned by the police in Freetown regarding the recent failed coup.
He arrived at the criminal investigations department amidst tight security.

While it’s unclear how long the interrogation lasted, Koroma stated on social media that questioning would continue on Saturday, expressing trust in due process and the rule of law.

The police had summoned Koroma within 24 hours for their investigation into the failed coup on November 26.

Gunmen attacked military and prison facilities, resulting in over 20 deaths and the release of about 2,000 inmates in an attempt to overthrow the government.
