Foreign-born residents in Oulu, northern Finland, feel unsafe after two stabbings police believe were racially motivated.

The attacks occurred in a shopping center over one week. On June 13, a 33-year-old former neo-Nazi allegedly attacked a 12-year-old boy of foreign heritage and tried to attack a 14-year-old.

The younger boy is seriously injured. On June 18, a 15-year-old allegedly stabbed a foreign man in a suspected copycat attack.

Both victims are in hospital. These attacks shocked Finland, leading politicians to condemn the violence. Mayor Ari Alatossava noted increased police presence and support for immigrants.

BBC reported these events.
