Beloved Actor Andre Braugher, Known for ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ and ‘Homicide,’ Passes Away at 61

Andre Braugher, renowned for his roles in popular shows like ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine’ and ‘Homicide: Life on the Street,’ as well as movies like ‘Frequency’ and ‘The Mist,’ has sadly died at the age of 61 after a short illness.

The talented actor, a two-time Emmy winner, earned acclaim for his performances in ‘Homicide: Life on the Street’ and the TV mini-series ‘Thief.’

Fans poured out tributes on social media, remembering his outstanding work, particularly as Captain Holt in ‘Brooklyn Nine-Nine.’

Aside from his acting, Braugher was active in supporting Black Lives Matter. He spoke out about how his roles as police officers in TV shows impacted his perspective on law enforcement.

In a 2020 interview with Variety, Braugher emphasized the influence of cop shows on public perceptions of policing, expressing concerns about the portrayal of cops breaking the law in the name of upholding it.
