Joe Biden held a crucial press conference Thursday night with his presidency and re-election hopes on the line. Despite the high stakes, he didn’t show much concern.

He told reporters he’s fighting to finish his job, not for his legacy, and dismissed doubts about his campaign.

“If I slow down and can’t get the job done, that’s a sign I shouldn’t be doing it,” Biden said. “But there’s no indication of that yet.”

His response was seen either as determination or denial of his situation. Shortly after, more Democratic members of Congress joined those already asking him to step down.

Two major mistakes stood out: Biden accidentally called Vice-President Kamala Harris “Vice-President Trump” and referred to Ukrainian President Zelensky as “President Putin” at a NATO event, causing gasps and concern among Democrats.

Despite these gaffes, Biden remained upbeat, insisting he can compete with leaders like Putin and Xi Jinping.

He dismissed the need for cognitive tests and said the election race has just begun. He remains confident he can beat Donald Trump in November, and polls show the race is close.

More Democratic politicians might voice concerns soon, and Biden faces another interview on Monday. Reports suggest even his campaign team is worried.

But Biden made it clear he won’t step down easily, insisting he’s the best-qualified person to run the country.
