Global law enforcement agencies, including the US Department of Justice, FBI, and international partners, have dismantled a massive malware network responsible for stealing nearly $5.9 billion.
The network, allegedly operated by Chinese national YunHe Wang, controlled millions of infected computers worldwide, carrying out various cybercrimes like fraud, exploitation, and harassment.
Wang faces multiple charges, with a potential prison sentence of up to 65 years if convicted.
The operation involved seizing assets worth around $60 million, including luxury vehicles and properties.
Collaboration from agencies and companies like Microsoft aided in the investigation.
