The reality star was found unresponsive in her hotel room following a cosmetic procedure.
Jacky Oh, from Wild ‘N Out, passed away unexpectedly after a procedure to enhance her backside. The medical examiner in Miami-Dade County has determined it was an accident. This procedure is commonly known as a “Brazilian Butt Lift,” and it can involve using liposuction or silicone implants. This news comes from an autopsy report obtained by Page Six.
Even though there were no known problems during the procedure, Jacky Oh, whose real name is Jacklyn Smith, was discovered unconscious in her Miami hotel room on May 31, 2023. She was declared dead shortly after being taken to the hospital.
After her surgery, Smith was given ciprofloxacin, a type of antibiotic, as well as oxycodone for pain, and Zofran to help with nausea. On the night of May 31, she experienced a strong headache and was told to take ibuprofen for it.
Smith’s aunt, who was with her, called 911 when Smith started feeling like her head was “burning” and had trouble speaking. Unfortunately, by the time help arrived, she couldn’t respond. Doctors discovered her brain was swollen, and there was bleeding around her torso.
It’s not clear exactly how the procedure led to her passing, but as per Medical News Today, fat embolisms are a rare but known risk of Brazilian butt lifts. An embolism happens when foreign material gets into the bloodstream. If fat got into Smith’s bloodstream, it might have blocked a vessel leading to her brain, causing the swelling that led to her death.
She is survived by her partner, fellow Wild ‘N Out star DC Young Fly, and their children Nova, 6, Nala, 3, and Prince’Nehemiah, 14 months.
