Actress Vicky McClure and film producer Jonny Owen have told everyone they got married while live on the radio on their wedding day.

The main actress from BBC’s Line of Duty, Vicky McClure, and her husband from Wales got married in her hometown of Nottingham. Right after the wedding, they appeared on a late-night BBC Radio Wales show hosted by Jonny Owen’s daughter, Katie Owen. She announced on her show that her dad and Vicky McClure had just gotten married. Vicky McClure confirmed the news, saying they were married and had a wonderful day. They were sad that Katie had to leave the show but proud of her. A picture on social media showed the couple dancing in front of the Our Dementia Choir, a singing group for people with dementia that McClure started in 2019.

She mentioned that after the ceremony, she took a train to Central Square and switched out of her wedding dress in the train restrooms. The place looked lovely with many Welsh flags. She left the after-party as people were coming in, which was difficult, but going to the studio felt great. It was really nice to make the first special announcement on BBC Radio Wales.

Actress Jo Hartley, who worked with McClure on This Is England, expressed her joy for McClure and her partner, praising their celebration with loved ones. Jill Scott, a former Lioness and I’m A Celebrity winner, complimented their appearance and congratulated them, and singer Sophie Ellis Bextor shared her happiness and congratulations.

McClure is famous for playing Detective Inspector Kate Fleming in the BBC show Line of Duty and portraying Lol Jenkins in the movie This Is England and its follow-up series on Channel 4.

Owen, who is from Merthyr Tydfil, is involved in making movies – producing, directing, and acting. He was on Channel 4’s show Shameless, won a Welsh award (called Bafta) in 2007 for his documentary about The Aberfan Disaster, and directed a film called Don’t Take Me Home, which is about the Wales soccer team during Euro 2016.
