Hilary Benn, newly appointed as Northern Ireland secretary following Labour’s election win, has begun his tenure by meeting key Stormont parties.

He engaged with First Minister Michelle O’Neill, Deputy First Minister Emma Little-Pengelly, and others like the UUP and SDLP.

Benn, who assumed office recently, emphasized forging a fresh relationship between the UK government and the Northern Ireland Executive.

He aims to prioritize economic growth, public services enhancement, and addressing legacy issues sensitively.

Benn affirmed commitment to the Good Friday Agreement and discussed urgent funding needs with local leaders, reflecting a proactive start to his term.
