South Africa is experiencing joy and relief as it has successfully avoided power cuts for the first time in over four years.
Previously, frequent power outages, known as load-shedding, had been a significant issue, causing widespread frustration and negatively impacting businesses.
Since March, there have been no power cuts, which is a huge change from the situation last year when blackouts were common.
This improvement is thanks to several key actions by the government and the state-owned power company, Eskom.
These include a major debt relief package, new leadership at Eskom, and a plan to increase energy supply.
Despite the progress, experts warn that the power system is still vulnerable, and occasional power reductions may still occur.
However, the chances of returning to severe load-shedding are now much lower if the current strategies continue.
