The band member, who had been battling chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), passed away on the night of July 26 in Los Angeles. Meisner, a key figure in the band’s formation in 1971 along with Glenn Frey, Don Henley, and Bernie Leadon, played a vital role in shaping their early sound. His distinctive voice and bass skills contributed to the success of their first five albums, namely Eagles, Desperado, On The Border, One of These Nights, and Hotel California.
The band shared the sad news of Meisner’s passing due to complications from chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). They praised his remarkable vocal range, particularly highlighting his signature ballad, “Take It to the Limit.”
Eagles, a highly successful band with over 150 million albums sold worldwide, received the honor of being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1998.
