A large crowd gathered along the streets of Bray in County Wicklow to honor the memory of Sinéad O’Connor, the Irish singer and activist.
As the funeral procession moved through, the spectators expressed their admiration by cheering, applauding, and offering flowers.
A woman interviewed by BBC News NI emphasized that Sinéad O’Connor held a significant role beyond her singing talents – she was a pioneering force.
Renowned for her 1990 hit single “Nothing Compares 2 U,” which propelled her to global recognition, O’Connor passed away at her residence in London in July.

Though the exact cause of her demise has not been disclosed, authorities have stated that there are no suspicions of foul play.
A quiet funeral ceremony occurred on Tuesday morning, followed by a procession through the coastal town. As the cortege made its way, sections of the gathered crowd on Strand Road spontaneously sang “Nothing Compares 2 U.”
Irish President Michael D Higgins and his spouse, Sabina, were present at the service, along with Taoiseach (Irish Prime Minister) Leo Varadkar.

Mr. Higgins remarked that the widespread sorrow and recognition of O’Connor’s life and contributions underline the deep influence she had on the people of Ireland.
