Microsoft Denies Breaking Promise on Activision Layoffs, FTC Raises Concerns

Microsoft is denying claims by US regulators that it went back on its word by cutting jobs after buying Activision Blizzard. The Federal Trade Commission says this contradicts what Microsoft said earlier.

Microsoft argues that Activision was already planning job cuts before the takeover. The deal, which gives Microsoft control of popular games like Call of Duty and Candy Crush, is facing scrutiny.

The FTC is concerned about anti-trust issues and wants to halt the deal. Microsoft’s explanation for the layoffs is being questioned by the FTC, which says it contradicts previous statements.

Microsoft insists it stands by what it said before. There are also reports of wider changes in Microsoft’s gaming business, with Xbox exclusives possibly appearing on other platforms.
