John Kerry, the US climate envoy, is stepping down from his position to focus on supporting President Biden’s re-election campaign.

This comes after his role in negotiating a global agreement to move away from fossil fuels at the recent COP28 climate summit in Dubai.

Despite diplomatic tensions, Kerry successfully collaborated with China on climate goals.

The 80-year-old, instrumental in the 2015 Paris climate agreement, emphasized the urgency of addressing the universal threat of the climate crisis.
