The final issue of the long-running Game Informer magazine featured the horror game The Casting of Frank Stone on its cover before the magazine’s sudden closure. The developers of this game, a collaboration between Dead by Daylight creators Behaviour Interactive and UK’s Supermassive Games, expressed their deep honor and sadness over Game Informer’s unexpected shutdown.

Game Informer, a major name in video game journalism for 33 years, abruptly closed its print edition and website earlier this month, leaving many of its articles, including the one on The Casting of Frank Stone, inaccessible. Fans are trying to save and retrieve archived pages.

Traci Tufte from Supermassive Games praised the magazine’s coverage, calling it a fantastic experience, while Mathieu Côté from Behaviour Interactive said it was unfortunate to see such a legendary magazine go. Despite the magazine’s end, both studios are excited about their game and hope it will attract more fans to the Dead by Daylight universe, which has been popular on streaming sites like Twitch.

Though the gaming industry, including both Behaviour and Supermassive, has faced layoffs recently, both studios remain committed to innovation and creating engaging content. The Casting of Frank Stone took about two years to develop and will be released in early September, with both teams eagerly awaiting players’ reactions to their work. (BBC)
