Woman in Famous Paris Kiss Photo Dies at 93: True Story Behind the Iconic Shot Unveiled”

The lady from the well-known kissing photo in Paris, Francoise Bornet, has passed away at 93. The photo, taken by Robert Doisneau in 1950, gained fame for its apparent spontaneity but was later revealed to be staged.

Bornet and her then-boyfriend were drama students approached by Doisneau, and they recreated the kiss for a magazine article.

The image’s resurgence in the 1980s led to legal disputes as other couples claimed to be the subjects. Bornet set the record straight, proving her identity with a signed original copy.

She sold it in 2005 for £130,000. Bornet pursued a film career, and both Doisneau and her ex-boyfriend have since passed away.

Bornet left us on Christmas Day, adding a poignant note to the enduring symbol of love.
