During his time as a rapper, Breedlove also used the name OX when performing on stage.

Nashawn Breedlove, the actor who played Lotto in the movie 8 Mile alongside Eminem’s character Jimmy, has passed away at the age of 46. His family told TMZ that he passed away in his sleep on Sunday, Sept. 24, at his home in New Jersey. The exact cause of his death is not known yet.

Rapper Mickey Factz shared the news of Breedlove’s passing on his Instagram before it was confirmed by his family. He posted a video of Breedlove’s famous scene from 8 Mile and wrote, “Rest in peace to one of the few rappers who bested Eminem… Lotto from 8 Mile. His friends affectionately called him OX. You will be remembered for your determination and boldness.”

Before becoming well-known for his role in 8 Mile, Breedlove was a rapper known as OX. He even appeared on the soundtrack of the 2001 movie The Wash, which featured Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg. The U.S. Sun reported that Breedlove was also a father, and he had a son named Zaak.

Many friends and fans of the rapper shared their condolences and kind words on Mickey Factz’s post.

One person, musician Datin, expressed their sadness, saying, “NOOOOOO! 💔 I met Ox when we were teenagers. He was in a group called The Now. They were the best group of rappers I’ve ever met in my entire life. They outperformed my group in a competition, but they were humble and nice.” Datin also praised Breedlove’s character, saying, “Ox really stood out. He was an incredibly good guy. I lost contact with him before 8 Mile. I had high hopes for him. It’s sad to hear this news. May he rest in peace 😔.”

Someone else wrote, “Nashawn was really down-to-earth and humble. He didn’t even realize he had genuine fans. He had so much talent. He wasn’t just a fantastic rapper; he could sing even better than Luther.”

Rapper Daylyt added, “He was the first rapper who got unfairly judged in a rap battle! Rest in peace, Lotto.”

Many others shared their own stories about Breedlove and also thanked Mickey Factz for sharing the news about his passing.
