Elon Musk Advisor Promoted White Supremacist and Misogynist Content Online
A key advisor working with billionaire Elon Musk on his efforts to reform the U.S. government has been found sharing and supporting content from white supremacists and misogynists online. According to Reuters, Gavin Kliger, a computer scientist educated at the University of California, Berkeley, has reposted messages from controversial figures like Nick Fuentes, a known white supremacist, and Andrew Tate, a self-described misogynist.
Kliger works as a “Special Advisor to the Director” at the Office of Personnel Management (OPM), which is leading Musk’s push to reduce the size of the federal workforce. Reuters confirmed Kliger’s education at Berkeley but could not verify other details on his LinkedIn profile.
In social media posts, Kliger shared offensive content, including a post mocking interracial adoption and another promoting anti-immigrant views. He also reposted Andrew Tate, who is under investigation in Romania for serious crimes like human trafficking. Tate has denied the allegations.
After Reuters reached out for comment, Kliger blocked public access to his social media account. The OPM declined to comment on his posts, and Kliger did not respond to requests for comment.
This discovery comes as another member of Musk’s team, Marko Elez, resigned after being linked to a deleted social media account that supported racism and eugenics. Meanwhile, Edward Coristine, another team member, was reportedly fired from a previous job for leaking company information.
The White House has stated that Musk and his team are working with proper security clearances and following federal laws. However, the involvement of individuals with controversial backgrounds raises questions about the team’s selection process and its impact on government reform efforts.
