Police have arrested a man suspected of attempted murder after a woman walking her dog was found unconscious. Anita Rose, 57, was discovered by a passerby on a track in Brantham, Suffolk, around 6:25 AM on Wednesday. She was taken to Addenbrooke’s Hospital in Cambridge with a head injury and is in critical condition.

The police arrested a 45-year-old man from Ipswich on Saturday. He was taken to the Martlesham Police Investigation Centre. It is believed that the suspect did not know the victim.

Ms. Rose was found on a track near Rectory Lane, close to the sewage works and railway line near the River Stour estuary. She had left her house at around 5:00 AM to walk her dog, Bruce, a springer spaniel.

Detective Inspector Mike Brown said they are trying to understand what led to this incident. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are asking the community for any information that could help, but they request no speculation on social media.
