Deadly attacks on police, churches, and synagogues in Dagestan, Russia’s North Caucasus, have resulted in multiple fatalities.
Gunmen struck during the Orthodox festival of Pentecost, targeting cities like Derbent and Makhachkala. Reports confirm the deaths of at least 15 police officers, a priest, and a security guard.
Six attackers were killed, with others being pursued by authorities.
Dagestan, historically prone to Islamist violence, saw two churches and two synagogues attacked, leading to fires and casualties.
The situation remains tense as investigations and security measures continue in the region.
