Apple Takes Lead in Global Smartphone Market, Surpassing Samsung for First Time in 12 Years

Apple has emerged as the top player in the global smartphone market, surpassing Samsung for the first time in over a decade.

Despite a decline in overall smartphone sales due to economic challenges during the pandemic, Apple sold over 234 million phones last year, securing more than a fifth of the market share.

This success comes amidst increased regulatory challenges and competition from Huawei in China. On the other hand, Samsung faces disappointment as its profits decline, partly due to competition from cheaper Android models.

The smartphone market is evolving rapidly, with customers showing interest in foldable phones and AI capabilities.
