The African Development Bank (AfDB) has officially told the Ethiopian government it’s upset because two of its workers were arrested, hurt, and kept by the country’s security forces. This is seen as a big problem in how countries deal with each other. The bank says on October 31, these two workers were taken by the security forces, hurt, and held for hours without a good reason.

The AfDB also shared that the Ethiopian government has said they are on the bank’s side and promised to quickly check what happened. The bank wants to make it clear that its work in East Africa hasn’t been affected by what happened.
