Woman Sues Lyft Over Alleged Rape by Driver”
A Florida woman is taking legal action against Lyft, claiming she was raped by a Lyft driver back in 2019, resulting in the birth of her child. This lawsuit is the latest in a series of sexual assault allegations against the rideshare company.
Lyft has denied the allegations, stating that the alleged assault occurred after an “off-app” ride and that they only learned about it years later. The plaintiff, Tabatha Means, alleges that the assault happened during a ride arranged through the Lyft app and resulted in her pregnancy.
While Lyft insists on its safety measures, including background checks and safety features in the app, Means and her lawyer argue for more rigorous screening processes. This case highlights ongoing concerns about rider safety in the rideshare industry.
