Israeli Strikes in Lebanon Claim Lives, Including Journalists

Content: Four people, including two journalists, were killed in Israeli strikes in Lebanon, intensifying exchanges along the border. Lebanon’s Prime Minister condemned the “attack” in Tayr Harfa village, where an Al Mayadeen TV reporter and cameraman, along with another man, lost their lives. Israel’s military, citing a threat, is reviewing the incident.

Al Mayadeen stated its journalists were “deliberately targeted.” The Prime Minister called it an attempt to silence media exposing Israeli actions. The IDF, denying deliberate journalist targeting, operated against a Hezbollah threat in the area. This marks the third attack on journalists in southern Lebanon during the conflict.

An elderly woman was reportedly killed in Kfarkela. The IDF earlier targeted “terrorist cells” and Hezbollah in the border area. Hezbollah, an Iran-backed group, holds significant power in Lebanon and is deemed a terrorist organization by Israel and others.

Deadly border exchanges intensified after a Hamas attack on Israel in October. Lebanon reports at least 77 deaths, including combatants and civilians, along the border.

Israel reports six soldiers and three civilians killed in northern Israel. This incident follows last week’s Israeli attack near Yaroun and previous strikes killing a Reuters cameraman.
