Australian swimming star Cate Campbell has decided to retire from competitive swimming after missing out on qualifying for the Paris Olympics.
She made the announcement on social media, expressing both disappointment and pride in her career. Campbell, a veteran of four Olympics, has amassed an impressive collection of eight Olympic medals and broken seven world records.
Known for her excellence in relay events, she has been a key figure in Australia’s swimming success for years. Despite not achieving her Olympic dream this time, Campbell leaves the sport with a legacy of inspiration and mentorship, particularly for her younger sister and fellow swimmer, Bronte.
Her retirement marks the end of a remarkable career that spanned decades and left a lasting impact on Australian swimming.
