The family of a three-year-old boy, who died in a car crash involving popular Ghanaian actor and musician Lil Win, is determined to seek justice. The accident happened on May 25 in Kumasi. Lil Win, whose real name is Kwadwo Nkansah, was also injured and later arrested after being discharged from the hospital.
Before his arrest, Lil Win’s production company called the crash a “tragic accident.” He was charged with dangerous driving and causing harm through negligence. The court granted him bail and adjourned the case until June 27.
Family members of the boy, Nana Yaw, told local radio they are counting on the police to investigate thoroughly and seek justice for their child. They accused Lil Win of not contacting the family until he heard about the child’s death. The actor has not responded to these claims. The boy’s father, Jacob Kofi Amponsah, is still in the hospital.
Lil Win’s new film premiere was canceled to honor the memory of the boy. His production company expressed condolences and wished a speedy recovery to the boy’s father. BBC.
