Wizz Air, often criticized for delays, has introduced an “all you can fly” deal where customers can fly unlimited times for a year at a fee of 499 euros (£428; $549).

Though the idea of unlimited flight packages isn’t entirely new, it’s still rare. Similar deals exist with airlines like Frontier in the U.S. and AirAsia in Malaysia.

Wizz Air’s offer, which allows travelers to book flights up to three days before departure for a flat fee, has faced high demand, with some airport options already sold out on the company’s website.

The annual pass’s price is set to rise to 599 euros after August 16. This new initiative comes despite Wizz Air being named the worst airline for flight delays in the UK for three consecutive years.

Last year, Wizz Air flights departing from UK airports were delayed by an average of 31 minutes, according to data analyzed by the PA news agency.

Wizz Air has also been criticized for poor customer service by consumer group Which? and recently faced a fine from Hungary’s competition authority for misleading communications. However, Wizz Air is disputing the fine and taking legal action.

Adding to its challenges, the airline reported a 44% drop in first-quarter profit and lowered its forecast for the year.

This shows that despite their efforts to attract more customers with enticing deals, they are still grappling with significant operational issues. (BBC)
