JD Vance, the Republican nominee for vice president alongside Donald Trump, received high praise at the RNC convention as he accepted his nomination.

His wife, Usha Vance, a lawyer, has been instrumental in his career despite preferring to stay out of politics.

While not seeking the limelight, Mrs. Vance, aged 38, has significant influence on her husband’s path, according to his own words.

They met at Yale Law School in 2013 and bonded over discussions on social issues affecting white America, which influenced JD Vance’s bestselling memoir “Hillbilly Elegy” and its subsequent film adaptation.

Usha Vance, born Usha Chilukuri to Indian immigrant parents in San Diego, California, previously identified as a Democrat and now works as a corporate litigator at a progressive law firm in San Francisco.

Despite JD Vance’s criticism of Democratic ideas, his wife’s background includes clerking for conservative figures like Supreme Court Justices Brett Kavanaugh and John Roberts.

He acknowledges her superior intellect and considers her a grounding influence in his life.

As JD Vance prepares for a challenging White House campaign, he values Usha’s guidance and support immensely, highlighting her as a powerful influence in his decision-making process.
