US Man Gets Life Sentence for Rape and Murder Near Germany’s Neuschwanstein Castle

A Michigan man, Troy Philipp B, was given a life sentence for sexually assaulting and killing an American tourist, while also attempting to murder her friend, near Neuschwanstein Castle in Germany.

The court noted the severity of the crime, indicating he may not be eligible for parole for at least 15 years.

The victims, Eva Liu and Kelsey Chang, were lured away from a popular viewpoint, where the attacker assaulted them on a hidden trail. Liu died from her injuries, while Chang survived.

The suspect was arrested after a manhunt, admitting his actions were not premeditated. The court did not release his full name.
