Donald Trump met Argentina’s President Javier Milei in Florida before a major conservative summit.
The meeting happened at Trump’s Mar-a-Lago resort, where Milei praised Trump for his election victory, calling it a sign that “the forces of heaven” were supporting them.
This was Trump’s first meeting with a foreign leader since winning the U.S. presidential election on November 5.
At the gala, Milei, known for his strong right-wing views, spoke about freedom and criticized unfair tax systems. He also praised Elon Musk for using his platform, X (formerly Twitter), to help humanity.
Trump called Milei an amazing leader and said he was working to “Make Argentina Great Again,” a nod to Trump’s own campaign slogan.
The meeting highlights Milei’s support for Trump and their shared conservative values. Argentinian media reports suggest Milei might seek a free trade deal with the U.S. under Trump’s administration, which Milei says could benefit both nations.
The event preceded the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) Investor Summit, where tickets cost as much as $25,000.
CPAC is a major gathering for conservatives and focuses on promoting values like liberty and economic freedom.
According to BBC, Milei and Trump’s meeting reflects their close ideological alignment and signals a potential partnership in the future.
