Tony-winning playwright Christopher Durang, known for acclaimed works like “Vanya and Sonia and Masha and Spike,” has passed away at 75.
He died at his home in Pennsylvania from complications of a rare form of dementia called logopenic primary progressive aphasia.
Durang, known for his witty and satirical comedies, leaves behind a legacy of impactful works adapted for stage and screen.
His final plays were written following his diagnosis, and he is survived by his husband, John Augustine.
Funeral services will be private with a memorial service to follow.
