Tanzania’s Vice-President Threatens Resignation Over Long-standing Water Shortage

Tanzania’s Vice-President Philip Mpango is considering resigning due to a prolonged lack of water in the northern Mwanga district.

Mpango blamed delays in a water supply project, which began almost two decades ago, on contractors.

He stated that if the project doesn’t deliver water to locals by June, he will step down.

Mpango emphasized the importance of water and expressed frustration at further delays.

Government officials claim the project is nearly 90% complete.
