Renowned South African Afro-pop singer Zahara, also known as Bulelwa Mkutukana, has passed away at the age of 36, according to the country’s Culture Minister Zizi Kodwa.
Zahara gained fame with her 2011 album ‘Loliwe’ and was admired for her musical impact. She had been battling alcohol addiction and faced health complications.
Zahara’s family confirmed her hospitalization last month, and she succumbed to the illness on Monday night in a Johannesburg hospital.
