Prince Harry reportedly decided to stay at a hotel instead of Buckingham Palace during his last visit to London, even though King Charles had invited him to use the palace apartments.
According to Parade, this happened when Harry visited for the Invictus Games in May. A source told The Times that King Charles offered the palace, but it seems Harry wasn’t interested.
Parade explains that this decision adds to the ongoing tension between Harry and the royal family.
Harry has also spoken out about how the media has affected his relationship with the royal family. In an interview with ITV News, he mentioned that his fight against the tabloids has been a major part of the family rift.
Harry explained that because of the media harassment, he doesn’t feel safe bringing his wife, Meghan Markle, and their children back to the U.K.
He said the harassment was “horrible then” and still feels horrible now, Parade reported.
