Conservative minister admits placing three bets on the general election date before it was announced by Rishi Sunak.
Alister Jack, who is stepping down after seven years in Parliament, clarified that he successfully bet on the election being between July and September, after losing earlier bets for May and June.
Initially claiming a larger win, he later described it as a joke and revealed the actual amounts involved, denying any breach of rules or prior knowledge of the election date.
