Regent Arcade Shopping Centre in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, had to close temporarily due to a fire that broke out in its multi-storey car park.

The incident led to the evacuation of the shopping centre on Monday afternoon, with thick black smoke visible across the town. Fortunately, no one was hurt in the blaze, which affected the car park owned by Cheltenham Borough Council.

After ensuring safety and assessing the damage, the shopping centre reopened its doors to the public on Thursday morning.

However, the multi-storey car park remains closed as authorities continue their investigations and assess the extent of repairs needed.

This incident serves as a reminder of the importance of safety protocols in public spaces and the efforts required to resume normal operations after such emergencies.
