Lupita Nyong’o is thinking about her past colleague, the late Chadwick Boseman, on the third anniversary of his passing. She posted a meaningful message on social media today.

Earlier, the actress from the movie Us posted a black-and-white picture that she captured around five years ago during a trip to Seoul, the main city of South Korea. This trip was likely to promote Marvel’s Black Panther movie, which they both acted in and was released in February 2018.

Three years ago, I felt an extremely unique sadness upon hearing about Chadwick Boseman’s passing,” the 40-year-old actress started in the caption of her Instagram post on August 28th. “The feeling of being lost was so deep that it took several months before I could feel happiness again.”

“I captured this picture on film at the airport when we arrived in South Korea in 2018,” Nyong’o explained. She added, “We had just learned to make a heart shape with our fingers, like a baby’s heart. In this picture, Chadwick was putting his stylish twist on it 😊.”

Nyong’o kept talking, remembering the trip and her friendship with Boseman with affection. She said, “We had an amazing 3 days there, and thinking about it makes me really happy.”

She said that death is tough to grasp, and maybe even tougher to agree with. Then she finished with a meaningful idea, “Yet, the love that came from the way he lived will give us strength every year when we remember his absence. Chadwick might not show up in our pictures anymore, but he will forever remain in our hearts.”

Other famous people from Hollywood, like Kerry Washington, Elaine Welteroth, Mike Colter, and Katie Couric, showed respect for Boseman’s memory by using emojis and sending kind messages of love in the comments.
