Jessica Ross

A mother is saying that her baby was beheaded during childbirth at a hospital in Georgia. She has filed a legal case against the hospital and the people involved in the delivery. The hospital is accused of hiding how the baby died from the family, which includes the mother, Jessica Ross, and her boyfriend, Treveon Isaiah Taylor Sr.

The hospital being talked about is called Southern Regional Medical Center, and it’s in Riverdale, near Atlanta. The baby, who was named after his father, was born at full term. The exact reason for the baby’s death hasn’t been officially stated by the county medical examiner’s office yet. They are still investigating the baby’s body to find out more.

According to the lawsuit, Jessica Ross started going into labor on July 9th. Her doctor tried to deliver the baby naturally but faced difficulties. The baby’s shoulders got stuck during the delivery, which is a condition called shoulder dystocia.

The lawsuit claims that the doctor didn’t follow proper medical practices. The doctor is accused of using too much force on the baby’s head and neck during delivery and not doing a Cesarean section when needed. This allegedly led to the baby’s head being separated from the body, causing the baby’s death.

The hospital, Southern Regional Medical Center, has said that it disagrees with the accusations mentioned in the lawsuit.

According to a spokesperson for the family, when Jessica Ross and Treveon Isaiah Taylor Sr. wanted to see and hold their baby, the hospital staff said they couldn’t touch the baby. They were only allowed to look at their deceased child, which made the young couple very upset.

During a recent examination, the baby was wrapped tightly in a blanket to hide the fact that his head had been severed. The Clayton County Medical Examiner wants state officials to look into the incident. They’ve also asked the Georgia Composite Medical Board to investigate three doctors involved and the Board of Nursing to look into the nursing staff’s role. The Southern Regional Medical Center can’t talk about specific patients due to privacy laws.

The medical center expressed sympathy for the family and praised their staff. They said they’re dedicated to providing good care, but due to legal matters, they can’t share more. The doctor in the case doesn’t work for the hospital, and the hospital has taken steps to address the situation.

A lawsuit has been filed, claiming negligence by the medical center and the doctor, Dr. Tracey St. Julian. The plaintiffs want monetary compensation for various things, including the baby’s potential earnings and the costs of the funeral. The county medical examiner’s office will release more information about their findings on Thursday.
