Hidden in the Lake Tahoe wilderness is Jeremy Renner’s new camp for foster kids, called Camp RennerVation. The Marvel star walks around the campsite, engaging with over 100 kids from disadvantaged backgrounds. Although they ask him about his role in the Avengers, Renner sees the kids as the real heroes, having overcome so much adversity.
Renner, the oldest of seven siblings, has always been an advocate for children. His work with foster youth in Reno, Nevada, inspired him to create the RennerVation Foundation in 2023. The foundation’s mission is to support and inspire children to achieve their dreams.
Camp RennerVation offers many activities, including sports, painting, boat rides, and nutrition sessions. Renner emphasizes the importance of fun, community, and giving these kids the chance to dream big and feel valued.
Renner shared that he wanted to provide the children with positive experiences and support, giving them a sense of continuity and consistency. He also highlighted the importance of perspective, aiming to shift how these children see their potential and future.
Renner’s daughter and sister also help out at the camp, making it a family affair. Renner takes pride in his daughter’s involvement, finding joy in her sense of pride in him. Despite his busy schedule, Renner made it a priority to attend the camp, seeing it as a valuable and fulfilling experience.
This camp is part of Renner’s broader effort to support and uplift foster children, helping them to see their own worth and potential. He believes that true heroism is about selflessness and giving to others.
