Root Beer Floats Walked So This Summer Drink Could Run
This summer, try a super easy and delicious drink ready in just two minutes. Perfect for pool days, summer nights, or a fun treat anytime, ice cream floats are a timeless delight. The classic root beer and vanilla ice cream combo is great, but you can mix and match ice cream and soda to your heart’s content.
Inspired by a Reddit thread, we explored different ice cream floats and found a zany pairing that’s a must-try: a Sprite and lime sherbet float. Here’s what you need to know about this refreshing summer drink.
What is an Ice Cream Float?
An ice cream float is simply ice cream topped with soda or another sparkling drink. Over on Reddit, people shared their favorite combinations, like vanilla ice cream with orange soda, Dr. Pepper with chocolate ice cream, and Coke with strawberry ice cream. But the one that caught my eye was lime sherbet and Sprite.
How to Make a Lime Sherbet Ice Cream Float
- Freeze a pint glass until it’s frosty.
- Add two generous scoops of lime sherbet to the glass.
- Top with Sprite.
- Optionally, add a cherry on top.
- Sip with a straw and have a spoon ready for the sherbet leftovers.
What I Thought About the Lime Sherbet Ice Cream Float
After trying it, I can say it’s a winner. Sprite can be too sweet on its own, but the lime sherbet adds a citrusy and creamy twist. The lime sherbet’s zesty flavor balances the soda’s sweetness perfectly. Plus, the bright neon lime green color makes it a showstopper at any party.
This drink is sure to impress at my Labor Day BBQ, and it even gives off fun holiday vibes. Remember, every season is ice cream float season!
