Tennis superstar Serena Williams and her husband, business entrepreneur Alexis Ohanian, are celebrating the arrival of their new baby! Williams gave birth to their second baby girl. Ohanian shared the exciting news on Instagram. He also told everyone the baby’s name: “We’re happy to introduce Adira River Ohanian.”
Ohanian wrote a lovely message saying, “Our home is now filled with love: a joyful and healthy baby girl, and a happy and healthy mom. I feel thankful. Serena, you’ve given me another incredible gift – you’re the Greatest Mom of All Time. ” He shared a heartwarming photo of the new family of four along with his update.
“I want to thank the wonderful doctors and nurses who helped my wife and our daughter. 🙏 I will always remember the time I introduced @olympiaohanian to her new baby sister. To sum it up, the quote ‘Your calmness would have been as steady as a river, and your happiness as constant as ocean waves.'”
The couple already has a five-year-old daughter named Olympia.
During the 2023 Met Gala, Williams revealed her second pregnancy. She posted pictures of herself and Ohanian dressed up, showing her pregnant belly.
At 41 years old, she cleverly captioned the photos, “I was so excited when Anna Wintour invited the three of us to the Met Gala.”
In 2022, Williams said she was taking a break from tennis to focus on other things, like having another child. Thankfully, not much later, she happily shared that they were expecting their second baby.
Although the sports star hasn’t confirmed her retirement, she spoke to Gayle King on CBS Mornings in February. When asked if she might return to tennis, she said, “It’s difficult to say. I’d probably say no for now.” She mentioned that she had dedicated her entire life to tennis and that it was time for her to focus on something else. It’s possible that she was already aware of her pregnancy at that time.
Williams and Ohanian talked to their daughter about how much she wanted a new sibling. They told her that they visited the doctor, and then Williams said, “I am going to have a baby.”
Olympia said, “Are you joking?” before she got really happy.
Now that the little child has arrived, Olympia’s wish for a brother or sister has come true. Congratulations to the Williams-Ohanian family!
