A microphone that gained attention when Cardi B tossed it into a crowd has been sold on eBay for nearly $100,000 (£78,500) approximately two weeks after the incident.
The owner of an audio equipment rental company auctioned the microphone that Cardi B used during a concert where she threw the mic after a fan tossed a drink at her in Las Vegas. The owner, Scott Fisher, had initially hoped for a $5,000 bid but was surprised when the final amount reached $99,900.
The incident went viral, prompting Fisher to put the item up for sale, with the proceeds going to the veterans’ charity, the Wounded Warrior Project, and Friendship Circle Las Vegas, an organization connecting volunteers with people with disabilities. Fisher confirmed that the mic being sold was the one used by Cardi B, as it was marked with white tape, a standard practice for identifying equipment for specific performers.
